LEVEL 1
Introduction To Counselling
  • This course is suitable for anyone 16 years and over
  • Improve your communication skills in the workplace or personal life
  • Obtain the initial step towards counselling training
  • Covers the basic counselling skills including listening, reflecting and summarising
  • Provides a safe and confidential environment for self-development and personal reflection.

LEVEL 2
Certificate In Counselling Skills
  • Suitable for anyone wishing to embark on their career to become a qualified counsellor
  • A useful course for anyone wanting to enhance their communication and listening skills, and develop your self awareness. 
  • Learn the ability to ‘help’ using the core counselling skills
  • Develop an aptitude to ‘help’ using the three core conditions and to build up self awareness.  

LEVEL 3
Diploma In Counselling
  • Essential for anyone wishing to become a qualified counsellor
  • Develop a range of counselling skills within the 3 main theoretical models to begin, maintain, & end a counselling process.
  • Learn to understand the key features of a range of approaches within the 3 main theoretical models of counselling
  • Develop increased self awareness in relation to being a counsellor

LEVEL 3/4
Certificate & Diploma
This course is essential for anyone wishing to become a qualified counsellor. This is a two year course.

  • During the first year you will complete all of level 3 and commence the level 4 course.
  • During year two you will complete the remaining level 4 units.

    When I started my journey with JHD, I was working as a busy, often stressed full time teacher in a primary school with management responsibilities and very little time to really consider who I was. I went along to a weekly level 2 evening class and found myself surrounded by an amazing group of people. I knew that I wanted to become a counsellor, but I hadn’t realised just how much I would come to learn about myself and how important the relationships I had forged with the group would impact me. After level 3, I never thought I’d be ready to take on placements and actually make a difference to people’s lives. The confidence and belief in myself helped me to leave my job as I started level 4, took on placements and now I am close to qualifying and starting my new career.

    JHD Counselling Training is proud to offer a range of counselling courses which will help you with either your self development or progression to become a fully qualified counsellor. You can study our Level 1 course at any time from the comfort of your own home, making it the perfect introduction to counselling skills course. The level 2 course is also fully online but in the format of weekly Zoom sessions with one of our highly experienced tutors. Our level’s 3 and 4 take a blended learning approach which consists of weekly Zoom sessions and some face to face teaching. We have adopted this approach as we feel it offers the best experience to all our students, who we understand all have busy lifestyles. 

    JHD have a large team of highly trained and professional tutors. Importantly all of our trainers are also fully qualified counsellors, meaning they have been on the same journey you are about to embark on. We guarantee a safe and confidential learning experience for all of our students, as becoming a counsellor takes a lot of self development too.
